Tree bumblebees in nest working at night!
We often see bumblebees going in and out of their nests during the day. But what do they do at night? This was filmed mid June and mid July with a noticeable lack of activity in July. This nest fell victim to the wax moth, aphomia sociella, as did my other tree bumblebee nest box also in a bird nest box.

Are the very small whitish moths that appear occasionally in the film wax moths?
Hi Kit, In this particular video no wax moth larvae… a few bathroom flies and other small flies. More to follow..including wax moth larvae! Cheers George
