A Guest Speaker at the Annual General Meeting Amateur Entomologists Society April 2015

I was invited to give a talk about ‘bees and bee boxes’ by the AES and I based it loosely along the lines of my posting about the potential dangers of using some bee hotels (bee homes!) and no thought about the bees nor their pests being given. I know from the many questions and favourable comments I received that bedsides making them think, they enjoyed the talk!

Reviews

“I enjoyed your talk on the Red Mason-bee very much, as did the rest of the audience to judge from their reactions and the number of questions it stimulated. You are clearly an expert on the life cycle of these bees and have researched their behaviour and parasites very thoroughly”. Colin Hart AES Bulletin Editor

“Great talk by @N_Nature – Interesting look at solitary bee box design and their effectiveness. pic.twitter.com/LTISumnB03” Donna Young,  Curator of Herbarium, Botany, World Museum, National Museums Liverpool.

I enjoyed giving the talk and enjoyed the fascinating lecture:

8th Annual Leonard Tesch Lecture by Chris Shortall of Rothamsted Research entitled “The Rothamsted Insect Survey: What five decades of insect monitoring has taught us….and what we still have to learn”
